Born at the Water's Edge
Where It Started
A. Winston Outfitters didn't begin with a business plan. It began with two dogs, a fly rod, and a stretch of central Pennsylvania creek that we fished before the sun came up.
Arlo and Winston — the Boston Terriers who give this brand its name — are the best fishing partners a person could ask for. Small, stubborn, and fearless. They don't care about gear brands or Instagram followers. They care about being at the water.
That simplicity is what we try to carry forward. We spent years testing gear on the water — figuring out which tungsten beads actually sink the way they should, which storage systems survive more than a season, which tools feel right in your hand. Most of what we found fell short.
So we built what we couldn't find.

The Namesakes
Arlo & Winston
Winston is the original fishing buddy — the brown-and-white Boston Terrier with more personality than most people and an opinion about everything, including your fly selection. Arlo is the black-and-white one, carrying on the tradition with equal parts stubbornness and charm.
They're a reminder of why we do this. Not for the gear, not for the brand — for mornings at the water with the ones you love.
